Catholic Schools Week
As we countdown to Catholic Schools Week, we are very excited about the many activities we have planned to celebrate our students, families, and faith.
From dress-down days and our daily book fair to our annual Priest on a Roof fundraiser and opportunities for parents/loved ones to participate in the fun, below is our schedule/themes for each day to help ensure you know what’s coming up.

Celebrating Our Parish

Student Masses
Our students will be participating in. the 9am and 1pm Masses at St. John. All families are encouraged to join us. We ask our Eagles to wear their school uniforms.

Our weeklong book fair also kicks off in our school library. You’ll have a chance to check out some great books, and our children will have the opportunity to visit with and read to the adorable dogs from the KPETS program in Westminster from 10am – 11:30am in our 1st grade room (Rm. 111).

Community

Box of Cereal Domino
We’ll line our hallways with cereal boxes and knock them down like dominoes. The cereal will then be donated to local food panties. We ask that all students please bring in at least one box of cereal to their homeroom teacher to use in this activity.
Weeklong activity: The Case of the Missing Pearl

The focus of the week in STEM class will be luminescence, where students will create projects that glow in the dark, focusing on the theme Under the Sea. As part of the hands-on activities, students will have to solve the Case of the Missing Pearl. Teachers and faculty will be ‘suspects’ and clues will be given during the Eagles Eye morning announcements. The class that solves the mystery will receive a pizza party. You will be able to follow along with the fun on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Join us to see nationally renowned Catholic radio and TV host Dr. Ray Guarendi speak right here at St. John. It’s free and you don’t need to register. Just show up!

Donations can be dropped off on Thursday, Feb. 2 in person throughout the day at the school or given online at sjwestschool.org (a link will be on the homepage). Fr. Mark can’t get off the roof until we reach our goal of $20,000.
